Peter Stewart (Managing Director) and Elaine Stewart launched EP label in 1995, with a one-colour Flexo-Diecutter. Peter built a solid reputation printing blank labels and barcode labels for regular customers and soon grew his business sufficiently to purchase two more presses, three and a five colour Flexo-Diecutter. With three presses, he was able to increase his range and over the next eight years provided customers with quality labels and efficient service at competitive prices.
In 2009 EP Labels changed trading name to Expression Labels cc.
Expression labels is run by family members and loyal employees which together offer customers reliability, excellent service and competitive pricing. They have established a well respected name in printing and loyalty to their customers.
His first step in to the full colour market came in 2007 when he purchased a Mark Andy Scout six colour narrow-web press from SArepco’s Paul Bouwer. The Scout not only produced top quality colour print but also improved run speeds and turnover times.
“I have been lucky to have a loyal customer base since day one,” says Peter. “ With regular orders and the best printing equipment, I have managed to steer the company through some tough economic times.” In April 2009 a visit to the SArepco saw Peter’s leap to the “Major League”, with the purchase of a complete Mark Andy 2200L, which boosted Expression Labels equipment compliment that also included a Mark Andy Scout, Three Flexo-Diecutters and two Rotoflex slitter/rewinders, a Prati Saturn TE 400 Slitter with a NIKKA Alis-s Inspection System at the factory in Red hill, Durban.
